Cleanings

Our experienced dental hygienists are focused on complete preventive care for our patients. They use the latest in ultrasonic cleaning instruments and laser cavity detection systems to discover even the smallest cavity.

Fillings

A filling takes the place of a tooth structure damaged due to decay or fracture. We replace old, broken-down amalgam/metal fillings that contain traces of mercury with white fillings (composites) to restore your smile and teeth to a more natural look and feel.

Root Canals

Left long enough, decay can burrow into the deeper reaches of the tooth, causing extensive damage to tooth structure. A root canal is a procedure that extracts decayed pulp from the central part of the tooth, reshapes the canal, and replaces it with strengthening filler.

When the damage goes beyond what can be treated with a filling, our dentists can perform a root canal (or endodontics), preserving the tooth and retaining its original integrity; thereby, saving a tooth that in the past would have to have been pulled. Patients must see their dentist quickly for a permanent restoration of the tooth.

Sedation Dentistry in Asheville

"Doctors Kennerly and Ledford have been great with their care. Beverly has been flexible finding appointment times and the technicians always work with a smile and remember who you are."

Tooth Extractions

In certain cases, wisdom teeth become inflamed under the gums and in the jawbone, causing a sac to develop around the root of the tooth that then fills with liquid. This can cause a cyst or an abscess if it becomes infected. An extraction of one, several, or all of the wisdom teeth may be advised. If that is the case, we have the equipment and training needed to perform such extractions, with an absolute minimum of discomfort.

Crowns

A crown is a permanent covering that fits over an original tooth that is either decayed, damaged, or cracked. At Asheville Dental, we offer traditional crowns as well as the CEREC one-appointment crown system. This allows us to shape the tooth, create an all-ceramic crown or onlay, and cement the restoration all in one visit.

Bridges

A bridge is a dental device that fills a space that a tooth previously occupied. A bridge may be necessary to prevent shifting of the teeth that can lead to bite problems (occlusion) and/or jaw problems and resultant periodontal disease. Bridges safeguard the integrity of existing teeth and help maintain a healthy, vibrant smile.
